Research suggests the intersection of experiences and behaviors associated with both trauma and neurodivergence can impact students’ equitable access to education. This session offers faculty actionable classroom practices to support a neurodiverse student population through trauma-informed pedagogy. Participants are invited to reflect on different forms of trauma and neurodiversity present in our classrooms, and to consider some trauma-informed instructional strategies to support all students.
This interactive workshop empowers participants to elevate their oral hygiene routine. After a brief presentation on the link between oral biofilm and periodontal disease, participants will reveal hidden plaque using a disclosing solution. They’ll then apply their new skills by brushing with both manual and power toothbrushes, comparing effectiveness firsthand. The session wraps up with an engaging Q&A to ensure everyone leaves confident in their brushing technique.
Are you tired of eating the same thing every week? Don't have enough time to cook? Everyone is invited to share their favorite recipe for a meal that takes 30 minutes or less. Doesn't matter if it is breakfast, lunch or dinner. We could all use some time-saving meals. Participants will be asked to bring a paper copy of their favorite time-saving recipe so that others can take pictures of it. Hopefully, by the end of the session, participants will have lots of new recipes to try.
