If you are looking for an alternative to traditional point-based grading, join us to explore standards-based grading (SBG). This mastery-focused approach eliminates the hassle of partial credit and encourages meaningful discussions about course objectives. Watch your students use feedback to grow and learn! We will discuss practical implementation strategies for both seated and online courses. Do not miss this opportunity to reimagine how you assess your students!
At Ozarks Tech, we're committed to the four pillars of OTC Cares. But how can we ensure we're truly putting students first? In this session, we'll explore student-centered design, inspired by user-centered and human-centered approaches. We'll discuss how students naturally create their own paths and how we can use that perspective to improve their experience. By focusing on how they interact with college processes, we can make more thoughtful decisions that support them.
Have we lost civility in today's society? This interactive session will address what civility is and provide advice on how to cultivate civility in the work environment. Attendees will also have the opportunity to discuss their views on the topic.
MDHEWD has established a P20W Research and Data Center and is working with partners to link data from (P)reschool through K-12, postsecondary education and training (“Grade 20”) into the (W)orkforce. P20W data systems allow users to analyze data, de-identified for privacy and confidentiality, to better understand pathways, programs, and policies that support the education-to-workforce journey.
This session will share our progress and future goals and engage attendees to hear their interests.
The focus of my doctoral project was on reality shock and transition to practice for Licensed Practical Nursing graduates, but this topic is applicable to all programs at Ozarks Tech. I will present the research behind reality shock and transition to practice and provide concrete steps that faculty can take to prepare our students so they can be successful in their new jobs. This presentation promotes the Ozarks Tech Core Values of being student-centered, data-informed, and community-focused.
