In this session we will discuss effective strategies to combat Imposter Syndrome in your professional life, the fundamentals of getting involved in professional organizations, tips on crafting compelling session proposals, and how to present confidently at conferences. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with peers and share experiences. Whether you are new to higher education or a seasoned professional, this session will equip you with the tools you need to thrive.

In the Electronic Media Production (EMP) program, we ask our students to view the media they love through a critical lens by asking themselves how content impacts Culture.  Join this session, where you will engage in activities I use in the classroom.  We will begin by choosing a prompt that links to a music album, listening, and reflecting on how the prompt aligns with the vibe of the album.  After the critical listening activity, I will share some scenes that shaped my life and teaching philosophy. Finally, we will discuss the film movement that took place from 1997-2002 and its impact on today’s popular culture.
