When starting the research process for library assignments, the use of AI as an assistive tool can offer students a means to explore ideas, learn new topics, and develop research questions. Using AI to summarize current research on a topic can effectively kickstart brainstorming. This session will provide an overview of scenarios for AI and library research tools and summarize observations on this topic as it relates to library instruction classes that were provided in the Fall 2024 semester.
While the OTC Library is known for books and as a place to study, we also have specialized resources, databases and services for you to discover. This session will highlight library resources that you can use not only to support teaching and learning but also for your personal/professional interests. Some resources that will be explored include the e-journal finder, a career exploration system, a genealogy database, Open Educational Resources, Family Study rooms, and the OTC history archive.
